Message from President Andy Gordon

Dear Montana Ambassadors,

Happy New Year and I hope your 2019 has started out wonderfully! On behalf of the Executive Committee, Board of Directors, and all our Montana Ambassadors, I’d like to thank you for your continued commitment to Montana as a dues paying member and your critical support of our mission. Your dues provide essential funding for our efforts to maximize opportunities for Montana businesses, as well as businesses interested in moving to Montana. We continued executing on our strategic plan with the support of Governor Bullock and his team at GOED, making great strides with our business mentoring, marketing and outreach, networking events, and policy advocacy across the state. Our membership grew at a healthy rate with some excellent new additions to the Ambassadors joining us in 2018, along with some new faces on the Board of Directors.

After a successful rebranding effort, we were thrilled to unveil our new logo and website at the annual Innovate Symposium in Billings, last August. We received great feedback from those who were able to join us at the Ambassadors Awards Dinner kicking off another fantastic symposium. Congratulations once again to all our 2018 MTA Award Winners and their families who we had the pleasure of celebrating at our annual get-together – we’re looking forward to doing it again at this year’s Innovate Symposium in Butte, October 14th – 16th.

On that note, I’d like to take the opportunity to remind all of our members to submit their nominations for the upcoming 2018/19 Montana Ambassadors Awards. One of the most rewarding experiences we have every year is seeing the reactions of those deserving leaders in communities across Montana receiving their awards and telling us a little more about the huge impact they are having, not just in their own communities, but to the benefit of all the citizens of our great state. Please send in your nominations prior to March 28th for the following categories:

● Entrepreneur of the Year ● Placemaker of the Year ● Business of the Year ● Educator of the Year ● Legislator(s) of the Year ● Montana Ambassador of the Year ● Outreach MT Ambassador of the Year ● Montana Ambassador Plenipotentiary

Information about how to nominate is found on our website here.

Additionally, I would like to invite all of you to find the best local initiatives, projects, and people that MTA can partner with and reach out to them in 2019. We pride ourselves in our ability to work all over the state, but also focus locally in support of our friends and neighbors right in our own backyards. Your nearest regional Chapter VP can help you establish a plan to engage others in your role as a Montana Ambassador, and all are encouraged to get in touch with any of us on the leadership team as needed. We have some amazing new opportunities on the horizon in 2019 in the form of events (both new and familiar), as well as some upgraded tools to help you continue representing the best interests of Montana at home and abroad, with more information coming soon.

Being a part of such a talented group of professionals remains an absolute honor and I thank each and every one of you for the opportunity to support your efforts as president this year. I can’t wait to see where we can take the organization in 2019!

Thank you for your prompt dues payment and for your support of this tremendous organization. Checks may be sent to MTA, P.O. Box 722, Anaconda, MT 59711 or paid online.

Sincerely,

Andrew Gordon

President, Montana Ambassadors
